HOW I GOT STARTED
Meet Martha Manchester, founder and designer of Jewelry by MM.
In her own words... I started making jewelry for friends and family as a way to relax after a long day working as a lobster broker along the mid-coast of Maine. Encouraged by the enthusiasm with which these small gifts were received, I signed up for a few metal smithing and jewelry making classes. Inspired and empowered, I then purchased all kinds of metals, stones, and equipment and launched headfirst into Jewelry by MM.
I'm in love with genuine pearls, and my love of coastal life is the inspiration for the nautical and natural themes I incorporate into many of my unique pieces. I use lots of sterling silver, and beautiful gemstones, and have recently expanded my offerings in 14 karat gold.
The excitement of a new design concept, or remarkable gemstone, ignites my passion and truly inspires me. I look forward to making unique, exceptional, handmade jewelry that my customers will adore for years to come.
